Held during Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month (April), our Move-A-Thon event aims to get people moving (anyway you want) while helping us raise funds and awareness for head and neck cancer. The best part is, you don't have to be an athlete to particpate - you choose what activity you want to do. Whether you run a marathon, knit a blanket, or walk your dog, if you're moving it counts!

| | MEET AMBASSADOR ED ROSSMAN Ed was diagnosed with throat cancer in November of 2017. After treatment, as he was starting to get better, he found himself saying “this week” a lot. It was a good coping mechanism as his throat area kept going through changes. “This week, I can talk longer at one time without sipping fluid than I could last week. I can’t eat grapes yet, something about the juice really irritates my throat…this week.”
He knew he’d eventually get better and back to normal. As Ed improved and came into contact with more people asking about his condition, he could honestly share what was going on, good or bad, but include “this week” as a sign of optimism. The mantra “this week” is something he still uses.

Our Peer-to-Peer program provides support for the head and neck cancer community. Whether you are a patient, survivor, or caregiver, you have the opportunity to connect with someone to give or receive support.
We especially need mentors with stage 4 head and neck cancers (high need for caregiver husbands to their wife/partner with stage 4 cancer) to register. To register, or find out more about our Peer-to-Peer program, visit our website. |
