Just like last year, this event will be happening in person and also virtually (for those unable to get to Philadelphia).  Join the staff and board of the Alliance, fellow patients, survivors, caregivers, and clinicians as we meet and learn from each other.

We're working on all the details now and will share more in the coming months! So brush up on your American Revolution history and re-watch Rocky - we're going to Philly!

HEAD & NECK CANCER AWARENESS MONTH - APRIL

MOVE-A-THON SHIRTS ARE HERE!

Show your support of the Move-A-Thon and the Alliance by purchasing this year's t-shirt (sweatshirts also available).  We have many colors and sizes available, and shirts should arrive in about a week.

As a reminder, the Move-A-Thon is our annual fundraising event held in April. We invite you to sign up and join us by moving your way according to your interests and ability (you decide - it could be running, walking, playing with your kids - whatever you feel capable of doing).

Then, during Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, join us in moving and raising funds and awareness.  Find out more here!

HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS - STILL TIME TO REGISTER YOUR EVENT!

Our host site kits are being sent out now, but there's still time to register your screening with us and receive your kit (for events in the US).

Let's partner together and spread awareness!  We make it easy for your organization to participate by providing volunteer t-shirts, educational materials, and customizable posters free of charge, and you organize the staff and volunteers.

We also welcome registrations for head and neck cancer screenings throughout the year - your event does not have to be during Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month.  We'll still provide the host site kits for your event.  Just fill out the form below!

MEET OUR NEWEST AMBASSADOR:
Eva Grayzel
Greenwood, Indiana
Survivor of Salivary Duct Carcinoma

Eva, a professional interactive performance artist, was diagnosed with late-stage oral cancer at age 33. A non-smoker, she was bounced among dental professionals while the ulcer on her tongue grew more prominent and painful.

“My first biopsy was misread by a general pathologist as hyperkeratosis, when in fact it was moderate dysplasia which had a chance of turning into cancer,” explained Eva.

“I didn’t know there were specialists in pathology, nor did I know that biopsies are not 100% definitive. It was two years and nine months from the first biopsy until the day I was finally diagnosed with late-stage oral cancer,” explained Eva. “During that time, bouncing back and forth between my dental practice and oral surgeons, no one EVER mentioned the words ‘oral cancer’ as a possible cause.”

“I share my personal story hoping it will inspire dental and healthcare professionals to raise the bar on patient education and the early signs of oral cancer. It’s more than my mission to educate. It’s my tribute to all those who came before me and my obligation to those who will follow,” added Eva.
