WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US!

Registration is now open for the 2023 AHNS/HNCA Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship Symposium, on Saturday, October 7th in Indianapolis.

This year the Survivorship Symposium will be offered both virtually and in person. We feel this provides the best option for patients, survivors, and caregivers to benefit from the panelists’ medical expertise, survivor’s experiences, and creates a sense of community.

Please consider joining us in person if you are able to!  Meet other survivors and experts who know what you're going through.

The in-person Survivorship Symposium will be held in Indianapolis, at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Canal, IUPUI  from 9 am – 4:30 pm.  Both the virtual and in-person are offered FREE to patients, survivors, caregivers, and medical professionals.

The 2023 AHNS/HNCA Survivorship Symposium program features leading head and neck cancer oncological and supportive care experts and all sessions will include a survivor to share his/her personal head and neck cancer journey.

We hope to see you there!

AUGUST WEBINAR

Date:  August 21, 5-6 PM ET

Description: Being a caregiver can be challenging due to the emotional, physical, and mental demands involved in caring for another person. Caregivers often experience high levels of stress, exhaustion, and burnout. This webinar will provide ideas on self-care, how to recharge, reduce stress, maintain health, and ultimately provide better care to loved ones.

MEET OUR AMBASSADORS:
CAREGIVER - ALLISON BREININGER

Allison Breininger married her high school sweetheart, Sean, right out of college. The two adopted their daughter, Maya, from Haiti a few years later.  One year after Maya arrived, the combination of a handful of skin cancers, a bout of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, and low white blood counts led Sean to the Mayo Clinic looking for answers.

One year and a major missed diagnosis (not a typo, they actually missed it!) later he was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia, a rare genetic disorder that causes bone marrow failure and head and neck cancer at a rate of 1000 times that of the general public.

As a result of her experiences, Allison created The Negative Space, a site where she writes openly and honestly about the realities of caregiving, encourages other caregivers to speak their truth, and provides concrete support suggestions for those with caregivers in their lives, including her “I’m Part of the Story” Caregiver Gift Boxes.

PS - Allison is one of our speakers for the upcoming Caregiver webinar!
